Abbey + Dan | Married at the Martin Barn on Knob’s Creek
When Abbey sent over a few photos our jaws DROPPED! What a gorgeous day for two sweet people. At Sophia’s, we loved hearing about their love story, and being a part of their wedding day!
Tell us about your love story! How did you meet? How did he propose??
We met in college, my friend from high school was his roommate. The first thing he said after he moved in was “You have to meet my roommate Dan!”
He proposed on his birthday, we went for a hike through the woods and were sitting on a lookout when he proposed.
What is the one thing you wish you knew when planning your wedding?
I wish I knew that neither me nor anyone else will notice if every fine detail I thought I wanted wasn’t there.
What advice would you give brides?
Make sure you tell everyone helping you how grateful you are for them! Take a moment to think about everything that people are doing for you. And don’t sweat the small stuff!

Wonderful! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
What was your favorite moment of your wedding?
My favorite moment of the wedding was definitely the first look and taking pictures. I’m usually very self conscious but our wonderful photographer Copperhead Photography really made us feel at ease.

Abbey picked one of our favorite boho style wedding dresses from Willowby Watters – such a sweet, light weight A-line dress with a unique textured fabric and handkerchief hem. The perfect match to her beautiful floral crown. Dan is looking sharp in a 3 piece navy suit!! What a gorgeous combination!
