Finding the perfect venue for your wedding is both exciting and overwhelming. You have your vision and the venue ties it all together. Living in Indiana has its advantages, from barns to old warehouses, you truly can have your dream wedding in any type of venue. Indiana also is known for many historical homes, buildings and big tourist spots. I had the opportunity to assist in a bridal shoot at The Indianapolis Children’s Museum. If you’re like me, you probably had no clue they hosted weddings and receptions. During the photo shoot, we took advantage of all the areas that are available during your big day. I wanted to share a little about the Museum and how they can be of service on your wedding day!
From start to finish, the Museum is available to meet all your wedding needs. You can even plan to have your engagement photos here. There is also the Manor located next door, that would make for some elegant photos, as well. You could go playful in the Carousel Wishes and Dreams exhibit, go back in time in Dinosphere or just take advantage of the outdoor entrance with the Large Dinosaurs. Personally, I loved the Dinosphere because of the stunning back drop the sky offered.
The smaller Galleries or even The Manor, would be excellent choices for hosting your engagement party, bridal shower and rehearsal dinner.
The Museums most popular space for wedding ceremonies and receptions is the Sunburst Atrium and Mezzanine, which provides space for up to 350 guests and also includes two staffed galleries. This space provides quite an open set up, with high ceilings and a big space, you can begin to imagine your dream wedding coming to life.
While these 2 venues are unique and beautiful, stay tuned for their 3rd venue coming in Spring 2018 with The Sports Legend Experience! I’m excited for their next project to roll out, as I believe it is a great attraction to bring to Indianapolis!
If I were to redo my wedding, I would choose The Childrens Museum of Indianapolis. I love the idea of getting married with such an open floor plan but I loved the idea of having photos on the carousel. It’s playful and like love, makes me feel young at heart.
