Torie & Mark ~ Opposites Attract

See More In Bridal

From a blind date to a beautiful proposal in a gazebo and surprise engagement party, these two prove that opposites really do attract.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Torie shared the scoop of how they met saying, “Mark and I were introduced by one of my best friends who was interning at his work (Woof Boom Radio). We met on a blind date at our local coffee shop (The Cup). I went on the blind date thinking there’s no way I’m going to date a sports broadcaster…because I hate sports!! But it worked out perfectly!”

HOW HE POPPED THE QUESTION

We love a good proposal story! Torie thought she was going to dinner with her two best friends to a restaurant called Paynes. She said, “as we were driving, my friend said ‘Oops I think we passed it.’ She turned around in a beautiful park. Little did I know Mark would be standing there under a beautiful gazebo with a lake behind it. I got out of the car and he took me under the gazebo and popped the question! It was so romantic and there was also a petting zoo in the park (I love animals)! Then he said we were going to our favorite restaurant, Grains and Grill, for a date. But when we walked in our entire family and all of our close friends were there to surprise us!”

WHERE TWO BECAME ONE

Torie and Mark tied the knot on June 29th, 2019 in Muncie, Indiana at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, then celebrated afterwards with family and friends at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

CHERISHED MOMENTS

Torie said, “My favorite part of my wedding day was when my husband surprised me by singing at the ceremony with his brother. It was so special and such a beautiful moment. I looked over and saw both of his parents crying watching both of their sons sing. Another favorite part of my wedding day was getting ready with all of my bridesmaids. I loved having our hair and makeup professionally done at Redhead Salon. We had mimosas and bagels while we got ready and had matching robes on!”

TIPS FOR FUTURE COUPLES

Torie’s advice for our future brides was, “Don’t stress about the details, focus on the true meaning of your day and cherish each moment with your friends and family. The moments Mark and I shared that day trumped the importance of the ceremony programs or the centerpieces.“
