Six years after the initiation of a sweet summer love, Madison and Scott reached the peak of Mt Fuji and he got down on one knee.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

“We met at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa when we were both first years in college. We had several mutual friends and social circles interacted often. We finally connected and went on several dates over the summer, our first being a jet ski date where I took a turn too fast and threw him from the jet ski!”

HOW HE POPPED THE QUESTION

“Scott popped the question after we’d been dating for 6 years. We were in Tokyo, Japan with my family visiting my brother who was studying abroad in Japan. We’d decided to summit Mt. Fuji while on our trip to Tokyo. After several hours of hiking in the rain, a restless night’s sleep at a checkpoint, and several more hours of hiking in the dark, we reached the summit at sunrise. Shortly there after, with my family present, Scott got down on one knee! There is nothing like being on top of the world when you are feeling on top of the world! Its a moment I will never forget. It was made all the more special knowing how hard we worked to accomplish the goal of climbing Mt. Fuji. We talked wedding all the way down :)”
